Stevensville Playhouse "Monthly Grind"
Last night I was a member of the Bittergrass String Band at the Monthly Grind, a showcase of local talent that is held at the Stevensville Playhouse. The Stevensville Playhouse, Inc. is a community supported, volunteer run, small town theater. It is located in beautiful downtown Stevensville, Montana - the oldest community in the state - where Montana began.
The Bittergrass String Band is a group of friends that regularly get together to play bluegrass and old time music at jams that are held most mondays at whoever's home is offerred up that particular night. This was our second time on a stage with lights and microphones etc. My part was banjo, guitar and vocals. It was great fun and seemed to be pretty well received. I especially enjoyed watching the small group of pre-teen girls dancing and twirling to to music down in front of the stage.
The productions at the Playhouse are lots of fun. Why not make a reservation for an upcoming show and stay the night at the Bitterroot River Bed and Breakfast so you don't have to drive home? Who knows what you may see when the curtain opens!
